In the four years from 2013-2016, General Administration of Quality Supervision conduct the supervision inspection for the flooring and coating materials manufactured by more than 50 enterprises in 9 provinces and municipalities directly under the central government such as Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hubei, Guangdong etc. every year, recently it announced the inspection results in 2016 of which the products from many companies are judged as unqualified. 

What is worth to be proud of is that more than ten enterprises including Shanghai Yangsen Speciality Chemical Co., Ltd. have been sampled and qualified to the sample inspection for a continuous four years. 

Recently, the flooring materials are widely used in the ground of business block and the industrial architecture such as garage, hospital, food and electronics etc. because of the features of overall seamless, good wearability, color diversity and environmental protection etc. With the continuous development of industrialization and urbanization in China, various kinds of infrastructures and building engineering emerge, their demand for the flooring materials has also been increasing by the days pass, standards like “Limit for harmful matters in the indoor flooring materials” established and organized by the Technical Committee of Paint and Pigment for Standardization on March 18th this year suggest higher requirement for environmental protection in the flooring industry. Under the dual pattern of opportunity and challenge, how to guarantee the quality and seize the opportunity for the flooring materials has become a topic for all the enterprises of flooring materials. 

General Administration of Quality Supervision announced the inspection results of the second batch of products for the national supervision on quality in 2016 which include the products of floor coating materials and the products of Polyurethane waterproofing coating undertaken for inspection by the units of National Quality Supervision Test Center for Paint.

On the aspect of products for floor coatings, 59 batches of products for floor coating manufactured by 59 enterprises in 10 provinces and municipalities directly under the central government such as Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Hubei, Guangdong etc. are experienced with selective examination. According to the requirement in the standard of GB/T 22374-2008 “Floor coating”, 16 items such as the adhesion, hardness, dent resistance, wearability, tensile adhesive strength (standard condition, after the immersion), chemical resistance ( alkali resistance, acid resistance), mass concentration of volatile organic compound (VOC) mass fraction of free formaldehyde, the mass fraction of benzene, the total mass fraction of methylbenzene and dimethylbenzene, the mass fraction of soluble heavy metals (lead, cadmium, chromium, mercury) for the products of floor coatings are examined. It is discovered in the selective examination that there are 7 batches of products that are not qualified for the regulations in the standard, which involve the items like the mass concentration of volatile organic compound, the total mass fraction for the total mass of methylbenzene and dimethylbenzene, the mass fraction of soluble heavy metals (lead) and the chemical resistance (acid resistance).  

39 batches of products manufactured by 39 enterprises from 9 provinces and municipalities directly under the central government such as Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan and Guangdong etc. are experienced with the selective examination for Polyurethane waterproofing coating. According to the standards like GB/T 19250-2013 “Polyurethane waterproofing coating”, 10 items such as the volatile organic compound, benzene, methylbenzene+ ethylbenzene+ dimethylbenzene, phenol, anthracene, naphthalene, free TDL, water impermeability, solid content, low temperature bend etc. are examined for Polyurethane waterproofing coating. It is discovered in the selective examination that there are 10 batches of products that do not meet the regulations in the standard which involve the items of volatile organic compound (VOC), benzene, anthracene, naphthalene, free TDL, water impermeability and solid content.
